Welcome back, wrockers and friends! I’m so glad you’re here.
In April, underappreciated characters were our inspiration. Let’s appreciate what we made before we reveal the theme for May.
The Bookish Hufflepuff wrote commentary on some of her early art:
The first collage I ever made says “We Were Not the Golden Trio” which was the name of the first panel Ana and I ever did, at Leakycon 2024. We examined Neville and Draco (and Luna a little bit) as the outcasts we ourselves felt we were in high school, with a lens that most people who were fully involved in the fandom as adults probably felt more like Draco or Neville or Luna than like the Golden Trio in terms of friendships, bullying, and motivations.

I wrote a poem from the point of view of Mrs. Norris:
Ever since I was a kitten, the castle’s been my claim
Rooms abound for roaming and the humans know my name
Cats with kids are cute but they could never say the same
They learn quickly to respect that I’m the queen of my domain
Shifting stairs don’t bother me, they keep me never bored
Which is nice when there’s no corridor I haven’t yet explored
If you’ve tried to hide and seek with me, you know how well I scored
And my human loves me only, so I know that I’m adored
Padding through the passages is always on my list
And my ears are on a swivel so excitement’s never missed
Watching birdies in the tower, chasing mops as an assist
I love to see the action, and to have my forehead kissed
If you want to get to know me, all you have to do is try
Give me space and give me patience, maybe slowly blink your eye
Pay attention to my ears and voice, and let me come to you
I’ll gladly give an audience to those worth listening to
This May, we’ll have a blue moon (second full moon in a month), so let’s have the moon as a theme to play with. From collage to poetry, from drawings to songs (even ones that rhyme moon with June), any creative medium is welcome. Feel free to share partial or in-progress works, too! Just have fun getting those creative muscles going.
