Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Jam: November 2022

A "Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Jams" sweets label with red and white stripes and the text on a yellow scroll.

Greetings, magical artists and associates! As one month transforms into the next, so too will our transfiguration theme change, but before it does, let’s see what you’ve made of it.

Every Flavour Jam regular TK wrote a haiku addressing a kind of transfiguration many of us know:

I figure you’d be
Nonbinary just like me
Trans is close enough

In November, we’ll branch out a bit with trees as our prompt. From wand woods to whomping, magic has deep roots in trees. As usual, any form of creative creation is welcomeaudio, visual, or otherwise, and anything from a little sprout to big and gnarly. I hope that leaves you with some inspiration!

OK I did something very silly. When I saw “trees” was the prompt, the first thing that came to mind was this 30-second bit from the Muppet Show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JGVHndX5MA

So, I decided to recreate it with the Whomping Willow! Why? I DON’T KNOW

    Enjoy!

By the way, the sample of “Trees” that I used is from a now-public-domain album by organist Dick Leibert called Organ Reveries from 1945! https://archive.org/details/78_none-but-the-lonely-heart_dick-leibert-oscar-hammerstein-ii-jerome-kern_gbia0082731
