It’s the End of 2009, But Not the End of the Wrock!

Wow! Today is the final day of 2009! Is it just me or is that kind of super awesome to the max? I mean, seriously. We all just lived another year, wrocked out like crazy people, and had a blast doing it. At least, I certainly hope so! I know that’s what I did with my time! So now that the end of the year is upon us, it’s time to party hardy, right?

Well, if you are in New York, you certainly have that opportunity! Tonight, at the Sidewalk Cafe, Justin Finch-Fletchley, Lauren Fairweather, The Jena Campaign, and Harvey Dowd (Adam Dubberly) are going to rock in the New Year in true style! Sometimes we all have to realize the Muggle inside of us, even Wizard Rockers have to face this from time to time. Thankfully for us, these Wizard/Muggle hybrids have taken their Muggle sides and created awesome music in the bargain! For more details on the event (for those near enough to attend), check out Lauren’s upcoming shows on ReverbNation.

For the rest of us (myself included), we can still rock in the New Year with all of these people! All it takes is a bit of magic and some PotterTeeVee to make it happen! Oh yeah, and a working internet connection. That might help. PTV will be streaming the entire event live from the location. The streaming will begin an hour before the music begins. As long as the tech works, we will also be embedding the live streaming here on the Wizrocklopedia! So come on by and hopefully you’ll get to watch it with us all!

And now, for a message from our sponsor…

Tonight at midnight we begin a new year on the heels of what has been, thanks to you, a magical year for the HPA!

Whether it’s been Accio Books!, Wrock 4 Equality, What Would Dumbledore Do, Magical Acts of Kindness, Candles of Hope For Rwanda, Pledge 2 Protect, No New Stuff, Nine and Three Quarters, livestream meetings, explosion of staff, chapters, and media coverage, you’ve been with us in making this year extraordinary (go here for a full list of 2009 accomplishments).

Today is the last day for you to make a 2009 tax-deductible donation so that we can do even more next year. Please give whatever you can from this page here.

I believe that with your continual participation combined with the breadth and scope of the vision that we share, that the transformative power of the HPA will continue to expand for what will be an amazing 2010!

And yes!!!, tonight at midnight we begin a new decade on the heels of a decade of Harry Potter – a decade that saw amongst so much, the birth of the Harry Potter Alliance and our magical approach to activism. I believe that the magic that Harry has given our world and the magical activism that we have been practicing for several years will continue to expand, ripen, and flower in this new decade.

If you can make a donation no matter how big or small by midnight tonight, thank you! And most of all, thank you for every way that you contribute to building this community. I am excited, humbled, and grateful that we are on this journey together as we embark on a new year and a new decade full of creativity, compassion, and change that will continue to renew our spirits and the spirit of our world.

Sorry, this was just hilarious for me!
On a website called BZPower.com which is a Bionicle fansite, there’s a game called ‘What would a Toa say to the sig above?’, which has turned into ‘What would any Bionicle charecter say to the sig above?’. In my signature, due to 5 lines of text only, I have this:
    Because of/WIZARD ROCK/I don’t feel/TRANSPARENT/Anymore!
Due to other lines. Someone answered:
    Bitil:
Because of this rock!*holds up rock*
    I don’t feel insane anymore!

Miserix: *takes the rock and smashes it*

Bitil: Buh…ya…hurble…Wha….fe….duh….DON’T YOU HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO THAN GOING AROUND SMASHING PEOPLE’S THINGS!?!?!

    Miserix: No.
