Each item will be worth a certain number of points. The top three people who earn the most points will receive autographed photos that will be mailed to them once the points have been tallied. We’ll be collecting finished maps until Sunday. See below for a list of Wizrocklopedia staff members in attendance!

FREE CANDY!!!
Want some candy? Find a Wizrocklopedia staff member wearing a hat and ask them, “Are you the Secret Keeper?” If they are, you’ll be rewarded with a treat. The Secret Keeper will change after being found, and there will occasionally be one or more fake Secret Keepers.

4 – 4:50PM Wizard Rock Phenomenon
Presentation
“Wizard rock has become a phenomenon, boasting its own article in Wikipedia, countless web sites, blogs, podcasts, a ‘wizard rockumentary,’ and even being featured in mainstream media sources such as Forbes and MTV. The music of “wizard rock” is not only an expression of appreciation for an award-winning literary series, but has produced a new musical genre that appeals to a vast audience of Harry Potter fans, new and old, worldwide. However, will it last beyond the 7th book? In 50 years when readers pick up the Harry Potter books will the music still be relevant? Through interviews and research we will investigate the motives behind ‘wizard rock’, its impact on the Harry Potter fandom, and what future the musicians themselves think it holds. Ultimately, while celebrating the unique success of our beloved ‘wizard rock,’ we’ll examine the questionable longevity of a musical genre based on a pop culture trend.” Details can be found on the symposium’s Formal Programming guide.

6 – 8PM The Young Wizard’s Songbook: Music and Fandom
Poster Session
“Fans have been using music to express their love for, and opinions on, canon and fandom for as long as organized fandom has existed (and probably longer!). The Harry Potter fandom is no exception. This poster session will discuss the history and uses of fannish music in the Harry Potter fandom (including, but not limited to, the Wizard Rock phenomenon) and also feature samples for participants to enjoy.” Details can be found on the symposium’s Formal Programming guide.

8 – 10PM Wizard Talent Show
