Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Jam: December 2025

A "Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Jams" sweets label with red and white stripes and the text on a yellow scroll.

Welcome to wizard rockers and friends, both new and old! Make yourself at home. Here at Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Jam, we make room for creativity with a new theme every month. Before we descend into December, let’s see what we have from November’s common room prompt.

I (Dots and Lines) have revisited the Ravenclaw common room in lyrics. I hope to turn them into a full recorded song, but one thing I love about the Every Flavour Jam is that any creative effort counts, even if it’s only partway to where you want to go.

Through the cold December
I can hide away
Whenever I may need it
I know where I can stay

Ravenclaw Tower is warm in the winter
Cozy and comforting, always familiar
Some things don’t change, that’s what I’m grateful for
Ravenclaw Tower is warm

Snow falls on the hillside
Ice forms on the lake
My cat is on a blanket
My friends are on a break

Ravenclaw Tower is warm in the winter
Cozy and comforting, always familiar
Some things don’t change, that’s what I’m grateful for
Ravenclaw Tower is warm

The knocker takes it easy
With Christmas cracker puns
And friends from all the houses
Come join us in the fun

Ravenclaw Tower is warm in the winter
Cozy and comforting, always familiar
Some changes are good, that’s what I’m grateful for
And Ravenclaw Tower is warm
Some changes are good, that’s what I’m grateful for
And Ravenclaw Tower is warm

The Bookish Hufflepuff is learning cross stitching from a friend. who also helped her find and modify a pattern. Her first project has some real house spirit: a Hufflepuff badger.

Four progress photos of a cross stitch project, from patches of black and white to an unfinished but clearly recognizable badger wearing yellow. In the middle is text saying "Hufflepuff common room" and below is text saying "mascot in progress".

December always brings with it familiar stories, so this month’s prompt is retellings.

What stories do you love and want to play through yet another way, or perhaps hate and want to fix? What existing retellings inspire you? What else do you have to say? You don’t have to use prose, although you certainly may. Any medium is welcome.
