This week’s Flashback Friday features the incomparable How Airplanes Fly!!

Some recent posts on Tumblr had me over at Abril’s old YouTube channel listening to the few videos that are there. Unfortunately I lost her music a few years back, and aside from MySpace, there’s no place else to listen to her songs. So head on over to her channel after listening to this amazing song and check out the 4 others that are there, or head over to her two old MySpace pages (her brilliantly beautiful “Forget The Girl” can be found on her second MySpace page here) and wrock out!

I discovered wrock in 2006 and fell in love with it completely in 2007. After fronting a band that played too loud & sang too out of tune but got to perform at Wrockstock anyways, I traded in the guitar and drums for a keyboard to help with the ‘pedia. You may still hear (or see) me bashing away on the drums for other wrock bands.

    Holy Criminy, the nostalgia that comes with this. I still have her album on my computer and the physical copy somewhere in a box. But by god, is she amazing.

    I kind of put How Airplanes Fly and Standing in Line in a similar category of musicians who just blew me out of the water unexpectedly. Ooh, same with Quick Spell! Ah, the magic.

    Her song ‘The Sweater with Red Hair’ always comes up on last.fm when listening to wizard rock, and that’s really the only song by her I know.

    I’m with you, Dinah. Her voice and lyric phrasing are some of the best in wrock. If only she’d start selling her CDs or MP3s again!!!
