Question Tuesday

For a little while there, wizard rock bands were rapidly signing up on MySpace not to show everyone their songs, but in order to quickly claim a good band name! The Potterverse theoretically has a finite amount of character names, locations, spells, etc. that could be used as part of a unique (and memorable) band name, so when musicians were struck by inspiration, they “claimed” the name even if they didn’t have any music (yet).

So aside from the fairly obvious band names we’ve seen in wizard rock, we want to know:

What’s your favorite obscure or unique wizard rock band name?

Personally, I always thought Catchlove was a great pick for a wrock name, based on an obscure character. Let us know your favorite unique band names in the comments below!

I like band names that help me out with trivia games, like 142 Staircases and Fred Lives!/George’s Left Ear (so that I never get confused about what happened to which twin).
I also always loved Hogwarts Trainwreck.

I’ve always (er, since 2010) been fond of Standing in Line as a band name. I also really like Marked as his Equal (his name is Mark!), The Dumbledore’s Army Band, The Weasle King, and The Hufflepunks.

We are the garden gnomes. We’re diggin the rhythm. Diggin the rhythm.

I’m incredibly biased on this, as one of my favorite names is the name of a project I’m involved with, though currently on hiatus: The Secret Broom Cupboard of Salazar Slytherin. That name, along with the font we use to write it, might very well be the best thing about the project.

Besides that, I’ve always loved the name The Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office. I have a thing for long band and song names, which, if you look through what we’ve put out, you can probably tell, lol.

I love Seen and Unforeseen’s name! Also, the Hufflepunks, and Fred Lives, Fred and George The Band and The Blibbering Humdingers,…

Aberforth Dumbledore and the Nannies is a great one. I’m also quite fond of 25 Hour Unicorn Diner.

I always thought Gred and Forge was clever, as well as the Weasel King.

Maybe it’s the English schoolgirl in me, but I have to say Siriusly Hazza P. So many people just don’t get it at all. Honorable mentions to the Giant Squidstravaganza, the Sweetwater All-Stars, and Split Seven Ways.
